Planned Giving

Posted on Give by Brian Moore · February 23, 2014 5:33 PM

Planned giving ensures that your generosity reaches generations to come, while you and your family enjoy the benefits of smart financial planning.

We are happy to discuss what planned giving could mean for you.

What will your legacy be?

Planned giving could be your most powerful and lasting legacy, ensuring that your generosity can support marginalized groups the moment help is needed.

Planned giving is not complicated. The simplest way to establish your legacy is to designate DSAA as a beneficiary in your will to receive a specified sum. This is called a bequest.

Other forms of planned giving include:

  • Donating a percentage of your estate;
  • Transferring appreciated market gains to DSAA, allowing you to avoid capital gains taxes; and
  • Starting a charitable annuity benefiting both you and DSAA.

If you choose to leave a planned gift to the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta, we would be honored to recognize your extraordinary commitment as a member of our Legacy Society.

Please consult a trusted lawyer or financial advisor before making any decisions regarding a planned gift.

World Down Syndrome Day Donation

$2,132.86 raised
GOAL: $5,000.00

March 21, 2020 marks World Down Syndrome Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of the genetic condition that results in three copies of the 21st chromosome and celebrating these special individuals around the world. This year's theme and call to action is “We Decide.”

All people with Down syndrome should have full participation in decision making about matters relating to or affecting their lives. Effective and meaningful participation is a core human rights principle supported by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). In 2020 we encourage people with Down syndrome to tell the world "We Decide!"

Will you support World Down Syndrome Day and consider a gift of $3.21, $32.10, $321, or $3,210?

Thank you for your support!

Please also consider joining us for a celebratory evening at our 3.21 BrewHaHa event on March 21 at Sweetwater Brewery!

The Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta(DSAA) is a 501(c)(3) organization funded through donations, grants, corporate sponsorships, memorial donations, and proceeds from several fundraising events, including our annual Buddy Walk ® held in October.  Your support goes directly to fund programs and services helping individuals with Down syndrome and their families from birth through adulthood and is greatly appreciated by the Atlanta Down syndrome community.
