New Brain Imaging Study at UNC Chapel Hill

There is a new Down Syndrome Brain Imaging Study at UNC Chapel Hill and they are looking for individuals to participate. See details below from the study:
We are enrolling children with Down syndrome between 7 and 11 years of age in our research for a visit that includes an MRI scan and developmental assessments. We are funded to cover the cost of travel and ...
related expenses while families visit the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, as well as compensate families $50 for their MRI scan and $50 for assessments. The MRI scan will involve training to stay still using a mock scanner so that scans can be completed without sedation. The study is usually scheduled with one day for assessments and mock scanning and a second day for the actual scan and the last of the assessments.
We are also enrolling infants with Down syndrome between birth and 6 months of age to participate in a longitudinal study of brain development. All participating infants will visit us at 6, 12, and 24 months of age. At each visit, infants will complete developmental testing and an MRI scan while sleeping naturally without sedation. Families will be reimbursed for all travel related expenses and compensated $125 per visit.
Families can contact Shannon Sweeney at 919-843-1331 or email [email protected] for more information or to enroll.
