The Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta is committed to preparing people with Down syndrome for a world that is ready for them. Over the past weeks, we have witnessed a world that is fractured across racial divides. We know that Down syndrome does not discriminate. It is present across all races and ethnicities. We want to voice our commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion in every aspect of our lives.
To the black families in our community: we want to let you know that your DSAA family stands with you. We see you. We hear you. We support you. And we will continue to work with you for justice and equality everywhere.
We are thrilled to announce the official partnership between DSAA and Jack's Basket! Jack's Basket delivers welcome baskets to new families in the hospital upon the birth of their child with down syndrome, hoping to change the stigma of a negative birth and diagnosis experience into a positive and celebratory one. We will have a team of local parents to support new families and celebrate new babies in our community. This has been in the works for quite some time and we are excited for what's ahead!
