Volunteer of the Year

Every year, more than 300 Members donate time and expertise to DSAA. These members serve on committees, task forces and/or staff our events.  Volunteers play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the association and help chart the future of DSAA.

In honor of these volunteers, each year the DSAA award committee votes to award Volunteer of the Year to one Member.  This award is intended to recognize the long-term, intensive, or extraordinary work of a volunteer. Nominees for this award will have contributed significant time and talent to DSAA.  Since the support of volunteers is so vital to the functioning of our organization, this award strives to recognize the contribution of all volunteers by highlighting a few.

Nominations for the DSAA Volunteer of the Year Award is evaluated, in part, by assessing the following criteria:

  • Active participation in committee and volunteer activities
    • Bringing up innovative ideas
    • Execution of these ideas
  • Demonstrated passion for DSAA and understanding of individuals with disabilities
  • Positive attitude
  • Recruitment and encouragement of other members

Nomination forms will be available later this year.
