The Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta (DSAA) is a 501 (c)(3) Georgia non-profit organization dedicated to support, early intervention, education, awareness and advocacy for persons with Down syndrome and their families. The Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta was founded in 1979 and serves the Greater Metro Atlanta area.

The Issues: The DSAA can speak to issues facing people with developmental disabilities in Metro Atlanta and Georgia, regarding:

  • Health services
  • Medicare
  • Research
  • Education
  • Aging
  • Community supports
  • Government policies
  • Family issues and concerns

Family Stories:The DSAA also has many families with unique stories regarding the joys and struggles associated with raising and caring for persons with Down syndrome who are willing to share thier stories with media.

Self-advocates: In addition, we have many self advocates, who despite having Down syndrome, have made significant achievements and contributions to the community.
