Looking Back on World Down Syndrome Day

Congratulations on a great World Down Syndrome Day and Thank You to everyone who participated in the many events of our consortium. We kicked off the day at the Capitol where Governor signed a declaration of Down Syndrome Day and took a photo with the group. We met with legislators, including our friend Representative Scott Hilton who escorted us to the House gallery to watch him making the declaration on the house floor.

Later we had our 3/21 Over 21 Party featuring three adults with Down syndrome who shared about their full and amazing lives as a working, married woman, a working, advocacy-minded man who lives independently and a college student working to get his degree in exercise science! A highlight of the evening was celebrating Martha Cronemiller's 77th birthday! That is right, her birthday is on World Down Syndrome Day. Martha is believed to be one of the oldest persons with Down syndrome in the United States and she sure is a character! Enjoy these photos of a great day and plan to join is for these events next year on World Down Syndrome Day!
