  • Debbie Dobbs, M.S, will discuss "IEP Strategies: Real World Suggestions and Tips on How to Have Effective and Meaningful IEP Meetings and Documents"
  • Karen Bearss, PhD will present her recent study findings on "Parent Training is Effective for Reducing Serious Behavioral Problems in Young Children" (http://news.emory.edu/stories/2015/04/scahill_autism_parent_training/)

*The seminar will take place at the Emory Medical Education Building in room 170A. Please use the directions below to get you to the correct parking deck and building on Emory's main campus.

Directions:

From Interstate 20 Eastbound

Take exit 60-B, the Moreland Avenue exit. Turn right on Moreland and follow it approximately 3 miles. Moreland will change to Briarcliff Road once it crosses Ponce de Leon Avenue. Continue straight on Briarcliff approximately 2 miles to North Decatur Road. Turn right and follow North Decatur approximately one mile to Clifton Road NE. Turn left onto Clifton Rd. NE and follow for approximately ½ a mile to Houston Mill Rd NE. Turn left onto Houston Mill Rd NE.  Now skip to the parking and walking directions below.  

From Interstate 20 Westbound

Take exit 60, the Moreland Avenue North exit. Turn right on Moreland and follow it approximately 3 miles. Moreland will change to Briarcliff Road once it crosses Ponce de Leon Avenue. From Interstate 75 North or South

Take exit 248-C, the Freedom Parkway exit. Cross Boulevard; continue on Freedom Parkway; veer left at split; continue until it ends at Ponce de Leon Avenue; then turn right. Off Ponce, turn left on Briarcliff Road. Go approximately 2 miles to North Decatur Road. Turn right and follow North Decatur approximately one mile to Clifton Road NE. Turn left onto Clifton Rd. From Interstate 85 North

To Emory from Interstate 85 North, take exit 248-C, the Freedom Parkway exit. From Interstate 85 South

Take exit 91, the Clairmont Road exit. Turn left (east) on Clairmont and follow it approximately 3 miles to North Decatur Road. Turn right and follow North Decatur approximately one mile to Clifton Road NE. Turn right onto Clifton Rd. NE and follow for approximately ½ a mile to Houston Mill Rd NE. Turn left onto Houston Mill Rd NE.  Now skip to the parking and walking directions below. 

 

Parking and Walking Directions:

1) Go a short distance on Houston Mill Road and turn left into the parking deck that says "Staff and Student Parking."  It is right before a curve in the road, and the arms should be up (There is also a large green arrow pointing in to the parking deck).  You should be able to enter without taking a ticket.  

2) Park on level 3 toward the back right corner of the deck.

3) Exit the parking deck in a door in the back right corner that says "to Whitehead Human Genetics Building”

4) Follow the walkway around the back side of the Whitehead Biomedical Research Building (NOTE: that railroad tracks are on your right)

5) Once you get to a courtyard area, turn right to walk across a bridge and cross the railroad tracks.

6) The Emory Medical Education is the first building on the left after the bridge.
