Disability Day at the Capitol
DSAA is a proud sponsor of Disability Day at the Capitol, an annual event sponsored by the Georgia Council on Developmental Disabilities. It features a community rally to promote access, opportunity and meaningful community living for all Georgians, including people with disabilities and their families. Citizens with and without disabilities gather on the steps of the State Capitol to join advocates and meet with State legislators to make their voices heard.
The 16th Annual Disability Day at the Capitol is Thursday February 20, 2014. This year's theme is "We all have a Story... What's Yours?"

Our Lisa Newbern (and family) reports from the scene of a great Disability Day for 2014! More than 2,200 participants, including Gov. Deal and Commissioner Berry, self-advocates, families and care givers, motivating speakers and time with state representative, Mary Margaret Oliver.
